Lukie’s Festival – Our promise, his legacy.
It is with Great Joy as Always that we have enclosed the proceeds from our 6th Annual Lukie’s Fall Festival, $4,000. The day of Lukie’s Fall Festival this year was not the best weather. It was cold, windy and rainy. Despite this, as the day progressed, the warmth and love of the people who came out seemed to change the weather with their smiles and love. We had to cancel most of our outside activities, but were able to set-up as much as we could inside the community building and pavilions.
We had our entertainment on the inside stage, which included performances by Alexa Dectis (SMA Type2), our local high school Select Choir, a band, and a demo by our daughter Kadyne’s cheering squad, the Rebels All Stars. We still had lots of games and fun, and the carousel was still able to run since it is inside its own building. The weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of our festival-goers (we have quite a following), as they still came out to support us and the Families of SMA.
The work that you do is so important to us and all of the families that are affected by SMA. It gives us hope that a cure can soon be found, also that we are not alone, that we can have the support of a community of people who understand and support what we have been through and are going through.
9 years ago when we had to say good-bye to Luke and let him go to become one of God’s Little Angels, we promised him that we would do what we can to help find a cure. This promise became Lukie’s Festival, and over the past 6 years of putting together his Festival it has become so much more, it has become his legacy, and ours. Luke is such an important part of our family; he is always here with us with his spirit and love.
Thank you again for all that you do, we pray for you always!
“Together we will find a cure!”
With much love and prayers,
Joe, Tara, Kadyne, and Anna Maida

True. The weather was not the best, but as miracles happen, the event went on without a hitch! We were still able to raise money for this horrible disease. Thru something so horrible, the death of a child, comes a wonderful memorium. It is beautiful how the community comes together and looks forward to this event every year. The community now looks forward to this event annually and supports our cause. I am proud to be a volunteer of Lukie’s Fall Festival and look forward to participating for many years to come! We love Lukie and hope that thru him and God’s love we are able to help support FSMA and TOGETHER WE WILL FIND A CURE!! GOD BLESS OUR SMA ANGELS!
