12th Annual Wannabe Charity Golf Tournament held for Families of SMA

Wannabe Tournament Raises over $2,300

Wannabe Charity Golf Tournament 4The Wannabe Charity Golf Tournament held its 12th consecutive annual tournament in July of 2010.  This year it was held at Sunriver, Oregon.  The tournament began its charity component in 2004, after one of its player’s children, Skylar Bahrenburg, was diagnosed with SMA.  This year the tournament raised over $2,300, and to date they have raised over $23,000!  The event, which began with 8 men (mostly bachelors), has turned into a growing family of friends that reunite each year – much like a family reunion.  The tournament is patterned after the Rider Cup, with two teams, the Blue Team and the White Team.  Wives and girlfriends are on the Red Team and all the subsequent offspring are on the Yellow Team… They are the Gunnabees at the Wannabe!
