Families of SMA – OKI Chapter Hosts 7th Annual Walk-n-Roll in Support of SMA Research

Rain or shine, the participants of this year’s annual OKI Walk-n-Roll were steadfast in their support of SMA

Team LandonThe 7th Annual Walk-n-Roll took place May 1, 2010 at the Cintas Center, Xavier University. Although it rained and was held inside this year it did not dampen the spirits of the many walkers and volunteers who came out to show their support. Once again, fun activities included kid games, a magician, balloon sculpting, music, a great raffle and more. New this year was a bake sale organized by Sarah Uhlenbrock, and McAlisters provided lunch for the volunteers after the event.

Following the walk, researchers updated those who were interested the newest things going on with stem cell and gene therapy. A question and answer session was included. Thanks to all the organizations and hard work from all the volunteers, Families of SMA – OKI Chapter was able to raise approximately $76,830 to help fund research and find a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. The next Cincinnati Walk-n-Roll will take place at the Cintas Center, April 30, 2011.
