Dinner and Auction Raises Funding and Awareness in Honor of Jocelyn Paige Lee, SMA Type I
On Saturday, April 17th the Jocelyn Paige Lee Foundation held their 3rd annual Silent Auction Dinner Benefit. A portion of the evening’s proceeds were donated to Families of SMA. The Jocelyn Paige Lee Foundation was started to benefit Jocelyn Paige Lee who was born on April 22, 2007 to Jennifer and Shane Lee. At about 6 months old Jocelyn was diagnosed with SMA Type 1. She is a very strong little girl who celebrated her 3rd birthday right after the event. The Lee’s family and friends started the foundation in honor of Jocelyn to help support her and her family and find a cure for SMA. The 3rd annual benefit had a great turn-out with nearly 150 people in attendance and over $9,000 raised! The benefit was held at St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Roman Catholic Church in Bear, DE. The evening was filled with dinner, dancing to the DJ, and bidding on over 50 silent auction items. Benefit tickets and also raffle tickets (for a 3 day/2 night vacation, donated by Derek Schmidt, Jocelyn’s uncle) were sold before the benefit by all the Foundation’s members. Everyone who participated in organizing and who attended the benefit had an amazing time and can’t wait for next year’s benefit!
