6th Annual Families of SMA – Greater NY Chapter Held Walk-n-Roll in Support of SMA Research

All participants shared in remembering Max Rubenstein and all of those affected by SMA at this year’s Walk-n-Roll in New York

Event T-shirtThe Greater New York Chapter of Families of SMA held their 6th Annual Walk N Roll on June 5, 2010. This year’s Walk N Roll honored the memory of Max Rubenstein who lost his battle to SMA before his 4th birthday. Richard Rubenstein, father to Max and FSMA National Board Member gave a beautiful tribute to his son. Chapter President, Debbie Cuevas was also presented with a Proclamation from Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano’s office declaring the day SMA Awareness Day in Long Island, NY. The Walk has raised over $60,000 and donations continue to come in. Thank you to all of the New York area families who participated, and thank you to Sarah Hunsicker from the National Office for coming out to meet the Greater NY Families.
