Friends and Family from Across Colorado Joined Together to Help Raise Support and Awareness for Spinal Muscular Atrophy
The 9th Annual Evening of Hope Gala was held on Saturday, March 9, 2010 and raised over $33,000. This year we welcomed back Jim Benemann, CBS4 Anchor, as our Master of Ceremonies. Our guest speaker was Dave Avrin, author of The Gift in Every Day. Kenneth Hobby, Executive Director of Families of SMA, also gave an inspiring speech about the latest SMA research. A live and silent auction, special guest musicians Arlene and Fiona Patterson, and dancing to the Bobby Marchetti Band was enjoyed by everyone!
A very special thank you goes out to Joy Spellman, our Gala Chairwoman, who has done an amazing job for us over the last several years, and the hard working Gala committee (Nicole Shaklee, Loree Weisman, Marynell Larson, Marla Marlow, Gillian Faith, Jackie Cuin, Jane Vigil, Kristy Brackett, Janet Mulay, Margee Sekich and Melisa Crawford Devincenzi) for which we are grateful!
